The home of Church Block has been converted. In 2016 Wirra Wirra undertook significant renovations to their home resulting in a revitalised cellar door, new conference facilities with private tasting room, tours programs and a new café — Harry’s Deli. The café is named in honour of the late McLaren Vale character, Harry Kilaitis. A gifted carpenter, Harry worked for many of the Vale’s wineries, Wirra Wirra included. Our branding solution centres around an industrial typeface stamped onto packaging and ephemera. The punched metal entry signage is held up by leather belts — a nod to Harry’s trademark belt and braces. A large scale charcoal portrait of Harry by local artist Jen Wright dominates the internal fit-out, quietly looking over the customers. Lastly, we worked with Red Fox Films to make four short films highlighting the local producers who supply the Deli.
